The AR Caller (Accounts Receivable Caller) for MDLand iClinic EHR is responsible for following up on outstanding medical claims, resolving billing issues, and ensuring prompt reimbursement from insurance companies and patients. The role specifically requires experience and proficiency in using the MDLand iClinic electronic health record (EHR) system to document actions, track claims, and communicate with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to insurance companies to follow up on unpaid or rejected claims through the iClinic EHR platform.
- Review and analyze accounts receivable and outstanding claims within the MDLand iClinic system.
- Resolve billing issues and discrepancies by collaborating with internal billing and coding teams.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefit details using iClinic and payer portals.
- Accurately document claim statuses, communications, and resolutions in iClinic EHR.
- Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Meet or exceed established targets for call volumes, collections, and claims resolution.
- Prepare, correct, and resubmit insurance claims as necessary.
- Communicate payment options and billing statements clearly to patients as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; higher education or certifications in medical billing/coding preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in accounts receivable, preferably in a healthcare or medical billing setting.
- Direct experience with MDLand iClinic HER.
- Strong understanding of medical billing, insurance claims, and payment posting processes.
- Familiarity with insurance denial management and appeals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.
